Who are We

Tupperware MLM - Welcome to the World of Eve Pacific logo

Eve Pacific Media is an affiliate marketing firm that provides support and guidance to those contemplating or who have chosen to become content creators. We help aspiring bloggers, content creators, and affiliate marketers with their strategies.

My relationship with multi-level marketing or network marketing started in the late 80s. I have had involvement with Shaklee, Primerica, Amway, and, yes, the infamous Consumer Buyline. I enjoyed various levels of success. Back then, I aspired to become an MLM or Network Marketing Pro. Savvy top MLM earners would build massive downlines, breakaway, and move to programs with the most lucrative opportunities during that era. This was a common practice before many States barred those multi-level marketing schemes.

Our goal at Eve Pacific Media is to use my vast experience to benefit others with a series of reviews of multi-level marketing companies.

What is Tupperware MLM?

Tupperware is a multi-level marketing company that sells kitchen and home products, bakeware, and more. Earl Silas Tupper founded it in 1938. In 1948 company introduced Tupper plastics to hardware and department stores. It is located in Orlando, Florida, and has offices in Mexico and South Carolina.

Initially, Tupperware started selling products in stores. Later in 1950, Earl Silas met a woman named Brownie Wise, who showed him how she was very successful at selling Tupperware through home parties. So, the company adopted a new strategy to sell products through home parties.

How does Tupperware Work?

The working of Tupperware is quite simple. Instead of rigorous traditional advertising and marketing, Tupperware hires people to sell its goods using the famous “Tupperware Parties”. You can earn a commission by selling products and hiring people on your downline.

Tupperware mainly sells kitchen-related products used for storing, serving, and preparing foods. Tupperware members organize parties to showcase products. You can say that they implement a direct selling method to generate sales. In this way, they do not pay for advertising and marketing.

Tupperware dominates the food storage market and often shows video demonstrations of its products.

Can You Make Money with Tupperware?

It’s not easy to make money under the umbrella of any MLM company. The low success rate of MLM companies further diminishes the chances of success.  Tupperware has one problem when it comes to making money. Products of Tupperware are too costly for some customers.

Tupperware MLM Review: make money

People can get similar or quality products at Walmart or Target for a lower price. In a report of 2017, data shows that active consultants made less than $700 in the previous year. At the same time, inactive consultants made an average of $20 in a similar year.

Although products are hard to sell, the company offers a commission of 25% and a 4-12% downline commission rate. Active consultants can also purchase additional Tupperware products at a 35% discount. MLM companies offer the opportunity to make money by recruiting. You can increase your income by active recruiting.

Tupperware MLM Review – Program Specifics

When you join Tupperware, they call you representatives (consultants in some countries). You will get a “getting started guide” and all the necessary digital and social tools for marketing. These tools are included in one of the two business kits you have to purchase, and 3 months paid off a pro-level my Tupperware plan.

You have to spend 60 dollars to join Tupperware. Once you have joined, the company will provide all the getting started guides and tutorials. Also, marketing and social tools are provided. Then you are asked to host a party to promote products.

You have to convince people and convert them to potential representatives. This process continues as more and more people join like a network.

What I like About Tupperware

Sales maintenance

The company bound you to maintain $600 worth of sales for six months. This is $100 per month and relatively easy compared to the monthly sales limit of other MLMs.

Less cost to join

Tupperware charges you only $60 to become an easily affordable representative.

Product variety

The company covers all the products related to the kitchen and offers an extensive catalog of products to choose from.

Quality products

Tupperware ensures quality products with a lifetime guarantee. Also, products are BPA( BisPhenol A) free, meaning an excellent selling point as the customers are becoming more and more environmentally conscious.

Flexibility

You can host online parties rather than physical if needed. Also, the company is quite supportive of solving issues.

Tupperware MLM Review: pros and cons

What I Didn’t like About Tupperware

No commission from downline

You do not get a commission from a downline. It’s a one-time bonus for units you train.

High shipping charges

Tupperware’s main reason it is hard to sell its products is excessive shipping charges. Customers are charged 10% and an additional 5% for direct shipping to the home.

Financial issues

The company is facing financial troubles, and its stocks dropped from $90 6 years ago to $3.11 last year.

Misleading

The company is misleading people about its MLM nature so that it doesn’t need to pay commissions to its representatives.

Beware of Lawsuits (If Applicable)

On February 28, 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed in United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, against Tupperware Brands Corporation and other Company executives. According to the complaint, Tupperware made materially false statements throughout the period.

Tupperware MLM Review: lawsuit

Tupperware failed to disclose material adverse facts about the company’s operations, business, and prospects. Tupperware failed to disclose to investors:

  1. That Tupperware lacked adequate internal controls
  2. Accounting irregularities in the company’s fuller Mexico business
  3. Provided overvalued earnings per share

The company’s stock dropped significantly after this news. It was down as much as 45% on February 25, 2020.

Is Tupperware Legitimate?

Although Tupperware is not a scam, the increased ratio of people losing money makes it difficult to trust. People are hesitant to support MLM schemes due to the possibility of a pyramid scheme in disguise.

Tupperware MLM Review: legal

But that doesn’t mean all the companies are the same. You can get a better idea about Tupperware after reading the review thoroughly. Then you can decide whether it’s an excellent opportunity for you or not.

Final Thoughts

Tupperware MLM Review: final words

Tupperware has been around since the 1940s. Being a multilevel company, it sells kitchen products through home parties. But its complicated earning mechanism makes it less attractive. Research and critically analyze all aspects before joining Tupperware.
